Summary
Dillon Mitchell is a 6’7 wing who is uber athletic, springy, and lightning fast, which helps him attack the rim relentlessly and finish above the rim. In the half-court, Mitchell is a good passer who has underrated vision and much improved handles. Mitchell’s major calling card are his elite defensive tools and instincts. He has the potential to be a great lockdown defender, who is versatile enough to guard almost anyone at ant position. Potential is through the roof on that end. He needs to develop a 3-point shot, as well as a face-up game and better slashing ability so he can use his athletic and finishing ability more effectively.

Notes
Tip-Off Classic – Atlanta, GA – 4/2 – 4/2021
Good size playing the PG this game, standing around 6'6. Looks to get his team involved by attacking the paint. Gets after it on the defensive end, sits in his stance and playing the passing lanes well. Gets out in transition and finishes above the rim.
Made Hoops – Indianapolis, IN, 4/23 – 25/2021
Backdoor cut for easy layup on the L side. Leak out layup in transition. Great defense on the wing as he contest a off the dribble pull up jumper from the R short corner. Locks up again on the L wing, forces airball, catches tip dunk on the other end in the same sequence. Pins shot off the glass on transition layup attempt. Locking up Emoni Bates in the entire game, forcing him in contested shots off the dribble and not allowing him to attak the rim.
Pangos All American – Las Vegas, NV – 6/6 – 6-8/2021
Def reb kick ahead ast for easy layup. Back to back off reb, draws foul on put back attempt. Makes C&S 3 from the L corner as the half ends. Creates off the dribble with L to R cross finishes at the rim with two hand dunk. Showed good foot work in the mid-post with a nice pump fake step through for layup at the rim.
Peach Jam - Augusta, GA - 7/19 - 7/25/2021
Offensively, he was great in transition, filling the lanes and using his athleticism to finish above the rim. He was really good moving without the ball in the half-court, making timely cuts that led to easy dunks. He was also a willing passer that looked to create shots for his team. Defensively is where he stands alone; he locks up on the perimeter using his lateral quickness and length to bother the ball handler. He also does a good job jumping the passing lanes, and he has an unconscious desire to block shots; if he's in the area, he'll try to block it. Areas of improvement would be improving his balling handling (L hand dominant) and needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooter.
