Summary
Carrington is a long, wiry lead guard who has shown the ability to be an effective floor general and handle all the responsibilities that come with it. Although he is the youngest player in the draft, his poise and maturity allows for him to excel in any environment. Standing at 6’5 with shoes, his size and length makes him a mismatch on smaller defenders. Off the bounce, he is a solid playmaker, especially in the open floor, as well as in the PnR. His ability to create separation because of his craftiness and change of speed/pace gives him opportunities to make plays for himself and others, whether it is a mid-range pull-up or a hard attack downhill to the rim leading to a kickout for three. Defensively, he is an active on ball defender, and his length and lateral quickness gives him the ability to recover and disrupt shots/possessions. Although he displayed fine mechanics on his jumper, there is still room for improvement on his three pointer, on both C&S and off the dribble. His main concern is his lack of physical strength due to his body not being fully mature yet. Potentially, he could get hunted against bigger, stronger opponents on switches, making him a prime target constantly throughout the game. Due to his lack of physical strength, he is also a subpar finisher at the rim, rarely showing the ability to finish through contact. Lastly, this leads into his final weakness which is him settling for jumpers or floaters at times due to his inconsistency finishes around the rim as well as lack of strength to finish plays at the basket.

Notes
City of Palms - Ft. Myers, FL - 12/18/2022
Volume shooter this game, attempted 20 shots, finished with 21 points. Crashed the boards well though and did have some passes converted to assists. Shot making ability and motion are fluid. Had a nice hesitation move from the wing where he was able to drive and create space for a pull-up at the FT line leaving defender steps behind him. Knocked in 2 shots from deep, one wing extended left side off catch-and-shoot action and another from the right side he dribbled into rhythm and no defender challenged. Liked the mid-range pull up this game.
