Excellent length for a combo forward at 6’8
Sneaky athlete, will surprise some with some of the plays he makes physically
Reads the court well, always gets to his spot with an array of crossovers, hesi’s, and spins
Never looks uncomfortable, always confident with/without the ball
Elite shooter with perfect mechanics 3 level scorer with a tight handle
Great hands and has a knack for rebounding and pushing in transition
Thin frame, will need to add muscle to fill out
Tends to dribble high in open space
Often seems disengaged on the defensive end
Plays straight up on defense far too often
Mental toughness is questionable at times
Brandon Miller is a smooth 6’8 combo forward who is an elite shot creator and maker. He has an advanced handle already and uses it to his advantage with an array of combo moves to get to the basket, his spot, or finding his teammates in open space. Miller is a better athlete than advertised who has the potential to be a solid defender at the next level. His shooting is one, if not the best in his class, being able to hit anywhere on the court. He needs to work on his handles in open space, as well as adding muscle to his frame. However, his biggest need for improvement is on the defensive end, where he often seems disengaged, out of position, and plays straight up. Discipline and mental toughness are what Miller needs more of as he transitions to the college level.
Made Hoops Midwest Mania - Indianapolis, IN - 4/23-25/2021
Makes nice R to L cross right into a midrange jumper at the elbow. Fastbreak dunk on the right side. Makes short pull up jumper in the lane. Creating off the dribble getting into is midrange.
Peach Jam - Augusta, GA - 7/19 - 7/25/2021
Offensively, he likes to operate in the mid-post area, where he can utilize his size and skill to shoot over the top of defenders. He has good footwork, which allows him to get the defense off balance and create shooting opportunities. He also likes to seek contact initiating a shoulder to chest bump to get his shot off. Defensively, he has good length and instincts to play the passing lanes and is a decent help side shot blocker. Areas of improvement would be, improving his handle to create shots for himself and improving his shot from behind the 3pt line.
