UAA Memorial Day Kickoff

Derik Queen II St. Francis Academy (MD) II 6’10 Power Forward II C/0 2024

Derik Queen scored 23 points in his team's 54-51 loss to Team Curry (NC). Derik was versatile for his size. He plays the game well on all three levels, but his main strengths are finishing around the rim and using his high basketball IQ to make the right decision when he has the ball.

Jay Wallace II Williamstown High School (MI) II 6’4 Shooting Guard II C/0 2022

Jay displayed his whole game by connecting with a few 3 pointers, making shots from mid-range, and finishing around the rim. Jay showed his ability to get to the rim on a beautiful falling down layup that he converted for an And 1.

Cam Gibson II Coral Glades High School (FL) II 6’1 Combo Guard II C/O 2023

Cam was very solid with his defense on the perimeter. He has a good shot, and he made two 3 pointers because of it. With a little more aggressiveness on offense, Cam Gibson will be a very complete player.

Padraig Gallagher II Beckman High School (IA) II 6’4 Small Forward II C/) 2023

Padraig did a good job creating shots for himself and his teammates as he regularly got downhill in the lane. He also did a good job securing rebounds on both ends of the floor, as he doesn't mind mixing it up on the interior.

Weston Teague II Berryville High School (AR) II 6’8 Power Forward II C/O 2022

Weston has a soft touch around the rim. He showed off his post moves by making a few hook shots in the lane over his defender. He is slightly built, but if he puts on some muscle, it could help him tremendously.

Traivar Jackson II W. Anchorage High School (AK) II 6’7 Power Forward II C/0 2021

Traivar Jackson anchored the defense in his team's blowout win over Weston Teague's blowout win over the AAO Flight. He made the ball handler think every time they drove the lane. He had several impressive blocks but nothing more spectacular than the block he had on a put-back attempt off an offensive rebound. He needs to polish his offensive game a little more, but he showed a glimpse when he finished a lay-in with Weston Teague all over him.

Wyatt Nausadis II St Francis High School (MI) II 6’3 Combo Guard II C/0 2023

Wyatt Nausadis showed his full game in a blowout win over Pro One (AL) 81-65. Wyatt used his craftiness to get a beautiful finger-roll layup to drop. He impressed me the most with his passing ability. He converted every type of assist you can instead of a bounce pass, high-velocity pass, or a pass on the money while he was off balance.

Blue Cain II Knoxville Catholic High School (TN) II 6’4 Shooting Guard II C/0 2023

The best player I saw on the weekend was Blue Cain for the B Maze Elite (TN). Blue Cain has multiple Power 5 D1 offers, which include Tennessee, Syracuse, and South Carolina. Blue Cain is a good finishing at the rim, and he plays bigger than his actual size. His ball-handling is a huge asset to his game as he used a behind-the-back dribble in open court to set up his teammate for a wide-open layup. His game was the best in the fourth quarter, where he hit multiple 3 pointers to put the game out of reach for the Nebraska Supreme.
