17 UAA Review

Running The Table………………….

Illinois Wolves were the only team to run the table and finish 7-0 this weekend at Session 1 of UAA led by Jaden Schutt (15.9 pts), Jalen Quinn (10.7), and Braden Huff (8.6 pts 7.6 Reb). Schutt the 6’5 shooter showed the ability to shoot the ball from all over the floor and score on several nice looking cuts to the basket moving without the ball in his hands. his play this weekend got him a offer from Duke. Quinn should his ability to run a team at the point position score on drives to the basket, he has very good size for a pg (6’4), he should have D1 schools knocking at his door. Huff the 6’10 Combo forward showed his ability to score on post ups, he did a very good job of making cuts to the basket on drives and score on wing catch and goes. He can step out and shoot the 3 ball, and has a decent handle. Also rebounded well.

We On Their Tails ………………

KC Run GMC and Nebraska Supreme both went 6-1 and this weekend, KC’s only lost was to the always tough DC Premier team 70-68, while the Supreme only suffered a lost to the famed Riverside Hawks 74-64. KC Run GMC were lead by Gradey Dick (11.2 PPG 5.3 Reb), Braden Appelhans (12.3 PPG, 4.3 Reb), and Taj Manning (15.5 PPG, 5.8 Rebs). Kansas commit Gradey Dick continues to score the ball at a high level with the way he shoots the ball, and gets to the basket. Braden Appelhans has nice size (6’7) as a catch and shoot wing, and showed it more this weekend. Appelhaus moves well without the ball. Another week another solid performance for 6’7 Taj Manning, he can score the ball various ways, but the way he pounds the glass is makes him a difference maker, nice big body who can shoot the mid range, and finish above the rim. Was really impressed with the Nebraska Supreme team led by Jason Greene, Jayden Dawson, and Isaac Traudt. Greene led the Supreme averaging 16.3 ppg and 6.8 Rebs, is ability to score the ball off the bounce on the wing and shoot the jumper makes him tough to defend. Love the way guard Jayden Dawson pushed the ball, finding guys and making plays, he also showed he can shoot it as well. One of my favorite players to watch this weekend was Isaac Traudt, he can step out and shoot the basketball at 6’9, but more important his toughness inside to finish plays reminded me of a Kevin McHale type. He is getting plenty of Big Ten love, and I see why. Danielle Brocaille shot the ball well, William Kyle was a menace on the glass on the defensive end, blocking shots rebounding the ball.
