Summary

An explosive athlete in the open court, he’s difficult to contain once he gains momentum and uses his strong, athletic frame to finish through contact around the rim. Defensively, he brings intensity and focus, moving his feet well and staying active with his hands, while also showing soft touch on floaters and runners in the lane. However, his three-point shooting remains inconsistent, and he can be overly aggressive on defense, occasionally resulting in foul trouble. He tends to over-dribble in half-court situations, which can lead to turnovers, and would benefit from developing his vision and decision-making as a playmaker, as he often only looks to pass when he's under duress.

Notes

Inner Circle: Family From Savannah Georgia

Mom - Regina Taylor

AAU Coach - Josh Smith (Former NBA Player)

Older Brother - Qurahn Anderson - Plays at University of South Carolina Beaufort

Asked source: Whats the temperment of the inncer circle and who's in the circle?

Source Answer: Its pretty much just his mom, Josh (Smith) and his older brother. They fully support him, but Rudy is the engine the moves every thing. He's a kid that knows what he wants and he puts the effort to make that happen. And mom has been through this before, not on this level but with his older brother Qurahn. He's been with Josh since the 5th grade.

Asked Source: How close is Rudy to his High School Head Coach?

Source Answer: It's good but it could be stronger. Were at a time where these older coaches are having to relinquish a little bit more power than they had to back in the day and I think Jesses struggles with that. The tide has changed for him at Norcross, you can't have a kid like him and always try to run sets and what not, you gotta let him go.

Asked Source: How competitive would you say Rudy is?

Source Answer: Super Competitive, Ultra Competitive. He's always working on his game and always in the gym. But I think he gets a lot of that from Josh, being around a former pro and picking up on how pros do it has only made him even more competitive and a harder worker.

Asked Source: Is he a self starter or does someone have to push him to work?

Source Answer: He's a grinder, he's a kind that challenges himself and the people around him too. I think especialy this year with the new found notoriety he's gotten with getting invited to USA Basketball and NBPA Top 100, that lit an even stronger fire under him. It made him lock in even more, like he's on Demon Time, for real!

Asked Source: What part of his game comes most natural to him?

Source Answer: His defense, he likes to play defense. A lot of kids these days are afraid to compete on the defensive end because they don't want it to go viral, but Rudy don't give a fuck, he trying to lock you up. I think he got that from Josh too, Josh told him that its all apart of the game, if you play long enough, you gonna get crossed up and get dunked on, but you can't stop competing.

Asked Source: What's another part of his game that comes natural to him?

Source Answer: It's not really his game, but he's a kid that likes to ask questions from people who have done it before him. He really seeks out information, he soaks everything up from Josh and his friends like Rondo. They tell him little tricks of the trade and he adopts them right away. Which a lot of kids can't do that.

Asked Source: What kind of kid is he, would you say he's a good teammate?

Source Answer: He's a great kid, comes from a great family and he's an amazing teammate, he works hard, he's always lifting up his teammates and he leads by example too. So if he can't motivate you with his words his work eithic will encourage you.
