Summary

Smith is a very tough-nosed point guard. He is not afraid of getting inside the paint and either, making a pass to another teammate or finishing at the rim against bigger defenders. He uses an array of finishes, from reverse layups, runners, and floaters. Deivon likes challenges, he likes guarding the best opposing guard and making it his priority to see them face difficulty all night. I believe it is imperative for Smith to get better at his shot consistency.

Notes

Tip-Off Classic - Lawrenceville, GA - 4/19/2019

Explosive athlete in the open court and gets off his feet quickly. Likes to push in transition and can create off the dribble. Willing passer to find open teammates. Really good in P&R action, spreads out the defense and makes great cross-court passes with both hands.

Adidas MDC - Emerson, GA - 5/27/2019

At this event, Smith showed extreme athleticism at the point guard position. He puts pressure on the defense. Lacked a consistent jumper and had a bit of tunnel vision.

NBPA Top 100 - Charlottesville, VA - 6/11-14/2019

Very fast in the open court. Needs to work on his ability to create for others in the half-court.

Hawks Naismith Holiday Classic - Norcross, GA - 12/13 & 14/2019

Ast on 1st play   in the right corner. Putting pressure on the defense in transition and half   court. Finishing in the lane with floaters and runners.
