The 2025 G-League Winter Showcase was a whirlwind of players, coaches, and executives gathering in Orlando, Florida to demonstrate the often unnoticed grind that runs concurrent to the flashy lights of the NBA season on a bigger stage. For the eight teams that played in the Playoffs of the Showcase, each game was a chance to earn respect, consideration for mid-season contracts, and a piece of the $100,000 cash prize set aside for the winning team. The Salt Lake City Stars would be the team to claim the Showcase Tournament crown, defeating the previously undefeated Raptors 905 137-112 in the championship game. Despite the Stars’ clear dominance in the tournament, there were multiple players who clearly staked their case for why they belong in the NBA. Here is my list for the All G-League Showcase Tournament teams:
1st Team
Elijah Harkless (SLC): 28 PPG, 4 REB, 2 AST (45.5 FG%, 20 3PT%, 100 FT%)
Harkless is an aggressive two-way off-ball scorer who led an aggressive Salt Lake City Stars to the G-League Showcase championship title. Harkless showed enormous grit and defensive effort guarding the other team's most dangerous scorer while also raining down mid-range jumpers and attacking the rim with strong finishes.
Sean East II (SLC): 22.3 PPG, 7.3 AST, 3.3 REB (50 FG%, 21 3PT%, 100 FT%)
A shifty and vocal reserve guard who was the engine of Salt Lake City’s guard corps that dominated the Showcase. East’s pace, change of direction moves, and playmaking vision kept opposing defenses off-balance and allowed for the Stars' offense to be evenly balanced.
Alijah Martin (905): 22.3 PPG, 5.7 REB, 3.3 AST (50 FG%, 37.5 3PT%, 75 FT%)
Martin is a dogged two-way guard who flashed his improving shooting and shot creation skills throughout the Showcase. He connected on nine of twenty-three 3PT attempts while consistently bullying guards to the rim on offense. Defensively, Martin forced turnovers and offensive fouls by chasing over screens, as well as deflecting passes and shot attempts during Showcase play.
Tyty Washington (SDC): 31 PPG, 8 REB, 5 AST (64.9 FG%, 56.3 3PT%, 100 FT%)
Washington was the leading scorer of the G-League Showcase Tournament Playoff and made it look easy. He rained in buckets from all three-levels on high efficiency, but was most impressive in controlling his pace and showing effort as a playmaker and rebounder, which is important for a young player looking to carve out a role on an NBA team.
Moses Brown (GRG): 19.5 PPG, 9.5 REB, 1.5 BLK (69.2 FG%, 75 FT%)
Brown was the most dominant and noticeable big man within the Showcase Tournament. He scored easily in the paint and ran rim-to-rim well, dominating most other matchups on the floor. Brown also managed to make 75% of his free throws despite his historically shaky free-throw shooting form.
2nd Team
Stanley Umude (AUS): 23 PPG, 3.5 REB, 2 STL, 1 BLK (48.7 FG%, 15.4 3PT%, 66.7 FT%)
Umude is an electric two-way slasher with highlight-reel athleticism and finesse inside the paint. His 34-point performance versus the Stockton Kings was filled with elite close-range shotmaking and hard-nosed defensive play that eventually led to him being called up to the Spurs on a two-way contract.
Ron Harper Jr. (MNE): 25 PPG, 4.5 AST, 4 REB (41.5 FG%, 30.8 3PT%, 80% FT)
Harper Jr. was the highest volume 3PT shooter in the Showcase Tournament, and he showed the potential to be a true NBA-level spacer. His catch-and-shoot ability, particularly on the Celtics' flare actions, combined with his ability to attack closeouts make him an intriguing player to monitor for a potential call-up. He also averaged 2.5 stocks per game, showing some defensive playmaking instincts as well.
Daeqwon Plowden (STO): 20 PPG, 8.5 REB, 2.5 AST (46.9 FG%, 25 3PT%, 85.7 FT%)
Plowden is a consistent and stable wing who showed impressive pace and body control throughout his two games in the Showcase. Plowden also defended and rebounded well against two offensively gifted matchups in Elijah Harkless and Stanley Umude.
Antonio Reeves (GBO): 18.5 PPG, 5.5 REB, 1.5 AST (41.1 FG%, 38.9 3PT, 66.7 FT%)
Reeves is a smooth and deadly shooting guard who made three or more three-pointers in both of his Showcase games. His ability to spot-up and quickly elevate off the dribble shows a good offensive foundation for Reeves as a two-way player.
Jonathan Mogbo (905): 11.7 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 4 AST, 1.7 STL(48 FG%, 33 3PT%, 50 FT)
Mogbo had the best motor in the G-League Showcase Tournament, often boxing out and out-hustling 7-footers as a small-ball center for the Raptors 905. Mogbo’s defense, rebounding, and playmaking are already sharp, but he still needs time to improve offensively and become a consistent NBA rotation piece.
