Louisville vs. Boston College Game Recap - Jan. 10, 2026

Louisville and Boston College faced off in a conference-play contest, as BC looked to earn their first ACC win of the season and the Cardinals attempted to bounce back from a home loss to the Duke Blue Devils this past Tuesday.

Sophomore guard Luka Toews set the tone for the Golden Eagles, hitting a three-pointer and

two mid-range pull-ups for a quick 8 points. Boston College took advantage of Louisville missing quality looks early on, spreading the ball around and hitting contested jumpers to get out to a 19–13 lead. Louisville cut into the lead with a balanced offensive attack, led by sophomore guard Adrian Wooley, who was aggressive getting to the paint and finishing through contact when the Cardinals' long-distance shots weren't falling. 6’1” guard Fred Payne stood out for BC in the 1st half, scoring 14 points on 6/9 shooting. After an uncharacteristically poor shooting half from the Cardinals, Boston College held a 34–30 lead at the break.

After a sloppy start to the 2nd half, Louisville tied the game at 41 with 16:31 left in the game.

Sananda Fru’s two-way impact was notable, as he blocked multiple shots and scored in the post through contact on multiple occasions. The 2nd half was back and forth, with a heavy dose of three-pointers and trips to the free-throw line for both teams. After multiple lead changes, Louisville ramped up their defensive intensity and got quality looks on the offensive end, as they jumped out to an 11-point lead with 5 minutes remaining in the contest. Louisville maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game, consistently attacking driving lanes and getting to the free-throw line.

Despite Louisville's slow start offensively, they pulled away in the 2nd half and won 74–60.

Center Sananda Fru stood out in a big way for Louisville, finishing the game with 19 points, 13

rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. Boston College had strong performances from their backcourt, as all three of their starting guards ended with double-digit points. They were led by Fred Payne, who scored 22 points on 9/15 shooting. Louisville's effective offense sets, aggressive takes to the rim, and increased 2nd half defensive intensity stood out, as they improved to 11-4 overall on the season.
